Make more of your pictures! Even if the fully-automatic function in a good digital camera does prevent almost anything from going wrong, some few tricks can make your photos more exciting, more lively and more interesting.
Just try it out: very often, focussing in on a simple detail can make for a more interesting picture than showing the subject in its entirety.
This cutting from a picture shows part of a bridge, and is not particularly interesting.
The true charm of the bridge is hidden in the detail. It is often a good idea to take a very close look at the subject when photographing it.
